Now is the time. This program is an amazing opportunity for you to follow your dream of becoming a yoga teacher...or to simply take your practice to a whole new level. Don't miss this opportunity to let the wisdom of this ancient practice transform and inspire your life. Cori Martinez (E-RYT), owner of Asha Yoga, has studied Yoga Teacher Training Programs for over 9 years and has created a 200-hour program (recognized by Yoga Alliance, the governing body of yoga in the United States) that we are very proud of! You will be guided, supported and encouraged by knowledgeable, passionate and accessible teachers along an amazing and transformative journey surrounded by a supportive community of others on the same path--yogis who are inspired and dedicated to become healthier and happier human beings and contribute to the greater happiness of the world! Program Philosophy: Our Teacher Training is designed to deepen and expand your experience of practice styles that bring balance, strength and inner peace both onto your yoga mat and into your life. Our format is based on the belief that true knowledge is acquired through direct observation and experimentation. Therefore, in The Asha Yoga Advanced Studies & Teacher Training Program you will be immersed in the practice and study of yoga asana, pranayama, meditation, practice teaching, anatomy, applied philosophy and much more. Content: Our 200-hour (Yoga Alliance approved) program offers an in-depth study of yoga and teaching methodology, with a primary focus on the Dynamic Yogi style (Vinyasa Flow). Plus, you will learn to integrate Yin and Restorative principals in order to teach "Balanced Yogi", as taught by Cori at Asha Yoga. The Asha Yoga Advanced Studies & Teacher Training Program was created for passionate students looking for an in-depth experience, students who wish to teach and share the gift of yoga with others, and for current yoga teachers looking to expand and refine their skills as teachers. Content is both outlined and detailed below. The Path of Discovery For 5,000 years yoga has helped people to live more calmly—with more vibrance, patience, happiness, gratitude and understanding. Whether through physical postures, breathing excercises, meditation, self-inquiry, attitude or lifestyle, a Yogi's journey is rich with discovery. The Path of Discovery is the journey of a lifetime that ultimately leads you to connect deeply with your own mind, body and spirit. Along the path, you will evolve as a student and a teacher by learning to successfully draw from your in-depth experience to find a confident voice that is genuine and luminous! We invite you to come and "immerse yourself in the healing powers of yoga, grow your confidence and expand your comfort zone through a transformational, experiential and fascinating learning experience." Don't be shy... if you're interested, intrigued or if any of this resonates with you, sign up. (Also, you're welcome to stop by the studio and talk with Cori. She's happy to answer any questions you may have!) Module 1: About the Path Dive deeply into the question, “What is Yoga?”. Learn the History and the details of the path. Guest Teacher is Christopher Wallis (Hareesh). Module 2: Increasing Awareness Dramatically increase your knowledge of the physical and energetic layers of the journey inward and begin to study and practice presenting your experience. Module 3: The Journey Within Experience hours of asana, pranayama, and meditation daily, plus self-inquiry and yogic cleansing practices that are guaranteed to show you the profound power of yoga and spark the cultivation of living a kinder, happier life. Delicious, healthy meals for 5 days/4 nights and accommodations are included. Module 4-:Integration Take all that you’ve learned in this in-depth study and learn to apply it to your real life and share it with others. Hear from a recent graduate:"From the very first day of Asha's Teacher Training Program, I felt welcomed. Cori led the group to become like a family, making every minute of the training a harmonious discovery for each of us and as a whole. Because of Cori's sweetness and her direct, easy way of explaining things, my nervousness was quickly transformed into more passion for yoga and for learning about life. We covered a variety of yoga philosophies and anatomy of the body to help us find our own way of teaching. Having already done another Teacher Training Program prior to Asha's, I had previously studied many of these subjects. But Cori's inspiring strength and enthusiasm helped me find a deeper understanding both physically and spiritually. This lead to a freedom in myself I had never known, but always wished for. Practicing at Asha has brought out the person I want to be and this training has given me the tools to teach others to do the same for themselves. I feel very honored and grateful I was able to take this program. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!" -Robin Mordecai Schedule : December 12, 2010 - March 13, 2011 Monday 7:30-10:30pm, Thursday 5:30-10:30pm, and Sunday 7am-3pm (first Sunday meets until 5:30pm) (Please note that we do not meet every week.)
